About FAA Basic Med Exam

About Our FAA BasicMed Exams--$150

Flying should be simple—and maintaining your medical eligibility should be too. Our clinic is dedicated exclusively to providing both FAA Basic Med exams for pilots and DOT Physicals for drivers.  Our objective is to service those who want a streamlined, stress‑free alternative to the traditional medical exam process. We focus on efficiency, accuracy, and pilot‑first service so you can stay in the air with confidence. Our Medical Examiner has over 20 years experience caring for patients.

Our goal is to reduce the burden on pilots while maintaining safety, and we’ve built our service around that same philosophy. Every exam is performed by a qualified medical professional who understands the FAA’s requirements and ensures your evaluation is completed correctly the first time.

Whether you're a recreational flyer or a seasoned aviator, our mission is to keep your medical certification simple, accessible, and hassle‑free—so you can focus on what matters most: flying.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at slidellphysicals@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No. Under the FAA BasicMed program, the medical examiner does not need to be an FAA‑designated AME. However, the Medical Examiner must be a state‑licensed physician in order to complete the FAA Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist (CMEC). The pilot then completes the required online course to finalize BasicMed eligibility.

No. We provide all required FAA BasicMed forms, including the Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist (CMEC). You’re welcome to bring your own copy, as well as have your portion completed before your exam, if you prefer, but it isn’t necessary.

No. You can take the online BasicMed course either before or after your in‑person exam. Most pilots prefer to complete the medical exam first, then upload their completed CMEC during the course. Both steps are required, but the order doesn’t matter.

Your BasicMed exam is valid for 48 months from the date your physician signs the CMEC. You must also complete the online BasicMed course every 24 months to stay current.

BasicMed is accepted in the United States and in certain countries that recognize the program. Some nations still require a traditional FAA medical. Pilots should always check the destination country’s rules before planning an international flight.
